Rwanda Safaris, Smaller than the State of Maryland, Rwanda sits within the East African region and it borders countries like Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The country is known for its beautiful hills, volcanoes, Mountain gorillas and beautiful people but sadly for also enduring one of the worst genocides in recent history. Rwanda is one of the safest countries to visit in the World and its Capital City Kigali is considered the cleanest City in Africa filled with friendly people and great local cuisine. Apart from Natural beauty, Rwanda has a rich cultural heritage and the best way to understand its Cultures and Traditions is to watch a local dance performance by the Intore Dance Troupe which is characterized by excitement and energy from the performers.

Rwanda Safaris is home to various bird species which add up to over 700 species as well as several mammal species. These can be seen in its National Parks like the Volcanoes National Park which lies within the Great Virunga Volcano Conservation region with about 200 bird species, Gishwati Mukura National Park which sits at a ridge that divides the Congo and Nile water catchment areas with about 400 bird species, Nyungwe Forest National Park which is home to over 300 bird species and about 85 mammal species and also Akagera National Park which holds over 13,500 large mammals including Africa’s Big 5 mammals which are Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Elephants and the Rhinos.

Several activities can be carried in Rwanda for example Game drives in Akagera National Park which is Rwanda’s largest National Park, this gives Visitors a great opportunity to see various mammals at close range and also take great pictures. Bird watching can be done in all the National Parks of Rwanda which are Akagera National Park, Volcanoes National Park, Nyungwe Forest National Park and also Gishwati Mukura National Park the Newest National Park in Rwanda.

Gorilla Trekking can be done in Rwanda’s Park National De Volcans (PNV) which is arguably the most visited National Park in Rwanda. This activity is one of the most unforgettable experiences in East Africa since it gives you an opportunity to get up close to the endangered Mountain Gorillas which behave like humans.
