3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Staying at Buhoma Lodge

This 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Staying at Buhoma Lodge takes you to one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in the South Western region of Uganda in Kanungu district.  The park is well known for having the best Mountain Gorilla Trekking experience. It has almost half of the World’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individuals following an increase from 400 basing on the 2018 census, it has 21 habituated families which are found in different sectors of the park like Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga and Ruhija. The park also has 350 bird species, 120 mammal species including primates and about 200 butterfly species.

 

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park

Day 1 of your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Staying at Buhoma Lodge in Bwindi starts with a meet and greet session at the Airport or your Hotel by our professional driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations. Here, you will be briefed about the journey and then proceed for the 8 to 10 hours drive with a stopover in Mbarara City where you will have your Heavy delicious lunch specifically made for you. Enroute to your destination, you will have a stopover at the Equator line at Kayabwe for the water experience and take some memorable pictures to spice up the journey. Proceed to the park for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Gorilla Trekking Experience – Batwa Community Encounter

Day 2 of your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Staying at Buhoma Lodge starts with an early morning breakfast. Wake up and have a heavy breakfast, Wear appropriate clothing like long sleeved shirts, long pair of jean or karky trousers, water proof boots, a round cap and a sweater to protect you against the bent tree branches of the impenetrable forest and also in case of bad weather. Pack some snacks and drinking water to help you during the trek since it is a 1 to 7 hours trek depending on the location of the Mountain Gorillas.

Gorilla Trekking Experience

Proceed to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the Do’s and the Don’t’s of the park when you are with the Mountain Gorillas. After the briefing, you will be assigned a park ranger and one Gorilla family to look out for. Embark on your search for the Mountain Gorillas, during your trek through the impenetrable forest, you will enjoy the magnificent vistas of the beautiful landscape while the atmosphere of the trek through the Impenetrable jungle gives you unreal experiences!!

On your way to find the Mountain Gorillas, be on the lookout for different bird species like handsome francolin, purple sunbird, African blue cuckoo, red headed blue bill, Rwenzori turaco among other bird species. The sights and sounds of the different bird and butterfly species will offer you a variety of color and foam to satisfy you with a rare sort of happiness!!! On finding the Gorillas, you will have 1 full hour in their presence while learning their behaviors and how they go about their daily life.

Batwa Community Encounter

Head back to your accommodation for lunch. Later prepare for a visit to the Batwa pygmies of the impenetrable forest who were the original inhabitants of Bwindi impenetrable forest, Mgahinga Gorilla National park, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the Virunga ranges in Congo. Most of them were forced out of the forests without compensation nor proper adjustment to the modern life. The experience will offer you an opportunity to learn about their ancient ways of life and their struggles to adapt to the modern life outside the forest. After the experience, you will return to your lodge for your freshly prepared dinner as well as an overnight.

Day 3 of your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Staying at Buhoma Lodge Safari ends today with an 8 to 10 hours’ drive to Kampala City with a stopover at Equator line at Kayabwe for your hot lunch and some coffee. Take as many pictures as you would wish and also buy some souvenirs at Kayabwe for good memories of “The Pearl of Africa.” Proceed with your journey to Entebbe International Airport to catch up with your flight or your Hotel.
